Nana Addo commissions 146 rural water systems worth $47.5 million each in Central Region

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced that, his government commissioned 146 completed rural water project in the Central Region of Ghana on Tuesday, 30th June, 2020.

The President who was addressing the people of the area said, the Pipe borne water project in the Anomansa Cluster Water System, in the Mfantseman constituency, and the Papaase Cluster Water System, in the Awutu Senya West constituency is ready to be used.

This according to President Nana Akufo-Addo makes a total of 146 completed rural water systems in the Central Region of Ghana which would serve a total of 154,826 residents.

President Nana Akufo-Addo disclosed that, the 146 rural water projects commenced in 2017 soon after he got political power from H.E John Dramani Mahama NDC government. He added that, the construction of each of the 146 rural water systems cost US$47.5 million credit facility from the World Bank.

The 146 completed water project will provide constant flow of potable drinking water to the people of Awutu Senya West, Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, Assin South, Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, Gomoa West, Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, Mfantseman and Agona West.

In conclusion, Nana Akufo-Addo added that, about 154,826 people within the Central Region is expected to benefit from pipe borne water in the aforementioned communities.

The chiefs of the beneficiary communities thanked president Nana Akufo-Addo for the project. According to them, the project will completely solve water crisis in their communities.
