The grassroot leader, visionary and unpredictable Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has put smiles on the face of the longest serving Midwife in his Constituency.

Mr. Ablakwa on Friday, 24th September 2021 has awarded the longest serving Midwife Madam Beatrice Blessing Obidieh with a brand new vehicle.

According to the Lawmaker, he has decided to surprise the longest serving midwife, Madam Beatrice Blessing Obidieh with a modest gift of a 2015 Toyota Prius fully loaded hybrid model.

Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa unvieled the award as his beloved Constituency, North Tongu hosted the Volta Regional edition of this year’s World Contraception Day in Battor, the District Capital of North Tongu District Assembly.

Uncovering a brief about the awardee, the MP said, Auntie Beatrice as she’s affectionately known has rendered inspirational service at the Battor Catholic Hospital since 2003.

He indicated that, the 53 year old product of Atibie Midwifery Training School, Madam Beatrice Blessing Obidieh came highly recommended by all her colleagues, doctors and administrative staff who were unanimous during his quiet background checks that she has been phenomenal, dedicated, selfless and a quintessential role model to the younger generation.

In a closing remarks, the Mr. Ablakwa said, he hopes that, Beatrice Blessing Obidieh sterling example and the token of appreciation will motivate other health workers posted to North Tongu District from elsewhere as in the case of the awardee to accept their postings, stay with them and not be fixated on seeking transfers to bigger cities.

In a brief statement, Madam Beatrice Blessing Obidieh has expressed her appreciation to the Member of Parliament for his kind gestures and support. She was overwhelmed to have been chosen for the honour.
