The presence of the President of Ghana H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo caused total disregard for social distancing protocols at some registration centres in the Greater Accra Region.
According to the Ghana Health Service precautionary measures, there should be at least one (1) meter distance between people in order to help minimize the spread of the novel Coronavirus among individuals.
President Nana Akufo-Addo, on Thursday, 2nd July, 2020 made unannounced visit to some voter registration centres during the ongoing compilation of the Electoral Commission’s new voter’s register. His visit has caused a heavy crowd and people totally disregarded the social distancing protocols outlined by the Ghana Health Service.
Though the president’s visit was get a first hand information and observe happenings at the ongoing registration centres, his appearance rather made people violated the social distancing protocols as spotted by Coverghana.com.gh in some pictures shared by the president on his official Facebook Page. “On Thursday, 2nd July, 2020, I paid unannounced visits to five voter registration centres in the Greater Accra Region to observe, at firsthand, the ongoing voter registration exercise.” He disclosed.
According to the President, he visited five different voter registration centres in the Greater Accra Region. The centers he visited include; the Kanda Cluster of Schools Registration Centre in Ayawaso East, Abossey Okai Presby Registration Centre in Ablekuma Central, Ebenezer Funeral Parlour (1&2) Registration Centres in Weija-Gbawe, Teshie Aboma Presby Church Registration Centre in Ledzokuku, and the Super Service Registration Centre in Klottey Korle.
