President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commissioned Nalerigu Water Supply System in the North East Region, one of the newly created regions in Ghana.
According to the President, the project which he commissioned on Tuesday, 28th July, 2020 is one of the Water Supply System in the region towards the realisation of SDG No.6.
Nana Addo commissions 146 rural water systems worth $47.5 million each in Central Region
The Nalerigu Water System which was commissioned and handed over to the Assembly cost four million, nine hundred and thirty-two thousand and eighty-five cedis (GH¢4,932,085).
In all, the ruling Newly Patriotic Party (NPP) government has spent a total amount of twenty-six million, eight hundred and fourty-eight thousand and seventy-five cedis (GH¢26,848,075) on water project in the North East Region since the party came into office on January 7, 2017.

During the President Akufo-Addo’s brief speech, he noted that, as a co-Chair of the Group of Eminent Advocates for the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, he is glad that the completion of this project will go towards the realisation of SDG No.6, which demands that we “ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”.
