The fourth term serving Member of Parliament of South Tongu Constituency Hon. Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome has redeemed his pledge made to the Tove Blood of Jesus Church in the Dzetorkoe Electoral Area of the South Tongu District.
Mr. Woyome on Sunday, 31st January, 2021 has handed over sets of roofing sheets to the Tove Blood of Jesus Church to roof their uncompleted Church building.
In November 2020, Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome was invited by the people of Tove and the Church to grace their annual harvest. During the programme, they appealed to the MP to support them roof their Church building.
The Member of Parliament has pledged to donate roofing sheets to the Church to enable them roof the uncompleted Church building which he has fulfilled during the Church’s last Sunday service in January 2021.
Honourable Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome handed over the roofing sheets to the Church through the Assembly Member for Dzetorkoe Electoral Area Amos Akorli in the presence of the Church members.
Speaking at the event where the donation was made, Mr. Woyome told the members of the community and the Church members to freely contact him if there is any further assistance to complete the Church building.
“Since we are trying our possible best to get home for ourselves, there is a need to get a place to worship our creator in Heaven. Though the Bible says our body is the Temple of Christ, there is a need to build a physical Temple for Christ where we can gather and worship with him.” He explained.
He also encouraged the Church to effectively play its roles including inculcating in the children positive and acceptable behaviours in the community that will help guide them.
“Let the love and unquenchable revolutionary spirit of NDC remain to be in your bloods. Let’s be careful and circumspect on what we say to people in the community. In the run up to the general elections, people peddled falsehoods against some of us and the party just because of petty politics. They are all lies, don’t follow them.” He advised.
The secretary to the Church Agbesi Akuaku, on behalf of the Church thanked Hon. Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome for the donation. “We called on you at the time we were confronted with challenges, and by God’s grace, you have delivered on the pledges made to the Church. May God grant you long life and prosperity to continue the development in the constituency within the next four years ahead.” He said.
Hon. Woyome, in his closing remarks thanked the members of the Church and constituents of the Dzetorkoe Electoral Area for their massive endorsement in the December 2020 general election to retain him in the 8th Parliament of the four republic of Ghana.
He therefore extended appreciation and that of the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama and the Party to every member of the Electoral Area.
