Member of Parliament for the South Tongu Constituency Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome has donated start-up kits to some 27 women in Sogakope.
The donation according to him, was to support the women in the production of liquid detergents.
Items in the kits include; soap base, moisturizer, rice solutions, booster, and thickener. Others are; greaseline, preservatives, salt, colour, perfume as well as bottles.
The donations took place at the South Tongu District Assembly auditorium in Sogakope, the District capital.
The training which happened on November 17, 2020, was organised by the Cooperative Department in collaboration with the Network for Women in Growth (NEWIG). It trained participants in the production of liquid detergents, bar soap, and hand sanitizers.
Receiving the items on behalf of the trainees were the Director of the Business Advisory Center, Mr. Eric Dzatse and Mrs. Patience Dotsey of Cooperative Department at the Assembly.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Dzatse thanked the MP for his timely intervention, and assured him that the items will go a long way to help the trainees implement what they had learned, and help them make a living.
He also appealed to the recipients to make the best out of the items in order to improve their skills.
