Col. Bernard Baba Pantoah has officially transited his role to Lt Col. Edward Sarpong Appiah at the Handing and Taking Over Ceremony at Obeng Square, Volta Barracks of the 66 Artillery Regiment Ho.
Col. Bernard Baba Pantoah took over as the 16th Commanding Officer of the Regiment on 12th September 2017.
As a Commanding Officer,
Col. Bernard Baba Pantoah played active role in the functions and operations of the Volta Regional Security Council between 2017 and 2020. He worked tirelessly towards ensuring and promoting the relative peace in the region.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Volta Regional Minister Dr. Archibald Letsa siad, Col. Bernard Baba Pantoah, particularly, was instrumental in the relative peace and security we have in the Alavanyo and Nkonya areas.
According to him, in the containment of the activities of the secessionist groups that emerged in the Region, he displayed leadership and professionalism.
Dr. Letsa who was accounting for bCol. Bernard Baba Pantoah role in the Regional Security Council said, he served the Region to the best of his ability. Volta Region therefore owes him a lot of gratitude.
“The Volta Regional Coordinating Council, the Regional Security Council and I are proud of you, Col. Pantoah. You would forever be missed. May God continue to bless this gallant soldier in all his future endeavours.”
According the Dr. Letsa, he has no doubt that the new Commanding Officer, Lt Col. Edward Sarpong Appiah who received the role from Col. Bernard Baba Pantoah would also contribute immensely to the security, safety and peace of the Volta Region.
