Ashaiman, has been in the news after a military officer was allegedly killed in the area. Following the incident, many officers besieged the town an brutalized many innocent civilians.
This brutalities meted out to innocent civilians have raised concerns as to who sanctioned the officers in uniform to undertake such an operation.
However, it has been revealed that the operation was sanctioned by the military high command to bring the persons who killed the military officer to book.

Speaking in an interview on joy news, the Deputy Defence Minister said “And so at dawn this morning the soldiers mounted this operation to find or to bring to book the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
“And so the operations undertaken this morning was a sanctioned operation by the military high command, it’s a well-coordinated operation, that’s basically what’s happening,” he said.
