CPP retains Ivor Kobina Greenstreet as flagbearer for December 2020 polls

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has retained Lawyer Ivor Kobina Greenstreet as the party’s flagbearer for the December 2020 elections.
The Congress was held last Saturday 22nd August, 2020 in 16 regional venues across the country. Each venue had to undertake a referendum to determined whether the election of National Officers and the Flagbearer could be done concurrently on the same day.

Report available shows that, about 98% of the over 2,500 delegates voted for the motion in support of the decision by the Congress Committee. This was necessary to amend the Party’s constitution to allow the Congress.

According to the party leadership, the reelection of lawyer Ivor Kobina Greenstreet In what would be described as a historic outcome the CPP National Delegates Congress for the Party for the 2020 General Elections. This is the first time the Party has taken such a decision since the inception of the Fourth republic. Greenstreet was first elected in January 2016 to lead the last General Elections.
