Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a strict directive to teachers on the implementation of the 2022 Academic Calendar for Pre-tertiary Schools.
In a letter issued by Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tando, the Deputy Director-General of GES in charge of Quality and Assurance has directed Regional Directors of Education to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the 2022 academic calendar within their respective regions.
“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) sends complements of the New Year and wishes all our staff a successful and productive 2022.”
“Management wishes to bring to the attention of Regional Directors of Education the 2022 Academic Calendar for all schools (Senior High Schools/Junior High Schools/Primary Schools/ Kindergarten).”
Regional Directors are by this letter directed to ensure that Heads of Basic and Second Cycle Schools in their respective regions take note of the provisions in the calendar and comply accordingly to facilitate a smooth running of the academic year.
All Heads of Schools are to ensure that the guidelines for health and safety protocols jointly issued by the GES and the Ghana Health Service for the reopening of schools during the Covid-19 pandemic continue to be strictly observed.
Additionally, the recommendations by the GHS on vaccinations of students age and above continue to be encouraged.
