The Leader and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, H.E John Dramani Mahama has disclosed the categories of small and medium businesses that will benefit from his corporate income tax when elected into office as president of Ghana come December 7, 2020.
The former president John Dramani Mahama reveled this at Kpeve, a town in the South Dayi Constituency of the Volta Region as part of his campaign tour to Volta and Oti Regions ahead of the upcoming general elections.
Mr. Mahama on his tour visited some small and medium businesses in the Kpeve township where he outlined some private own businesses that will benefit from his tax exemptions. Interacting with one of the Chief Executive Officer of private businesses, John Dramani Mahama said “Small businesses like that of Joshua Setordzi will benefit from our tax exemptions for small and medium businesses aimed at various enabling them plough back their profits into expanding their businesses and employ more young people”.
John Dramani Also Added that, his next NDC administration will;
- Reduce corporate income tax for medium size companies from to 25% to 15%.
- New Medium Size companies employing more than twenty (20) staff will be exempted completely from the payment of corporate income tax for TWO years.
- Newly established Medium Size Companies that employ up to 20 people
will be completely exempt from the payment of corporate income tax for ONE year.
The former president earlier told the members of the Organized Labour and Professional Groups in Volta Regional Capital, Ho that, he will exempt all small and medium businesses from paying corporate income tax if he becomes president again.
