Kennedy Agyapong donates $200K to evacuate stranded Ghanaians from Lebanon

Since the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus Pandemic across the globe, a number of Ghanaian nationals who traveled outside the country were stranded following the closure of most boarders.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with other stakeholders were able to evacuate some Ghanaians leaving in foreign countries. But in the wake of the week, some Ghanaians stranded in Lebanon have been calling on government to evacuate them.

Following the appeal of stranded Ghanaians, the Member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency Honourable Kennedy Agyapong has donated an amount of two hundred thousand dollars (&200,000.00) to evacuate stranded Ghanaians from Lebanon.

The controversial Member of Parliament has made the donation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration towards the evacuation of stranded Ghanaians from Lebanon.

The Hon. Member of Parliament for Assin Central also made an appeal to Ghanaians which has led to the donations of Gh¢501,000 and $144,650 to the Foreign Ministry towards the evacuation exercise, making a total of $428,650 USD.

List of stranded Ghanaians in abroad seeking to return home released

The gesture is in support of the Foreign Ministry’s efforts of evacuating stranded Ghanaians from the Gulf State.
