NUTSA awards two GES staff at the Volta Regional Education Directorate
The National Union of Tongu Students and Associates (NUTSA) has awarded two staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) at the Volta Regional Education Directorate, Ho.
The Union made a presentation of citations to Mr. Francis Mensah Vidzro at Human Resource Management Division and Mr. Forgive Yao Agoha at the Public Relations Unit respectively on Friday, 24th November, 2023 at the premises of the regional directorate.

The awardees were recognized for their contributions to effective education in the region, particularly in the three Tongu Districts: North Tongu, South Tongu, and Central Tongu.

The Union leaders emphasized the consultative approach used within the Tongu districts to select the awardees, considering their support to the Union and their impact on education.

The presentation took place at the premises of the regional directorate, with former NUTSA executives: Nicholas Kelvin Agboni (Former President), Wisdom Sogah (Former President) and Gati Delali Kofi (Former Financial Secretary) accompanying the National National President Justice Gbadago and Vanessa Peace Assasey – National Treasurer.

The citation reads;
‘In recognition of your hard work, passion and commitment towards improving quality and sustainable education in Volta region, especially in the three Tongu Districts, the leadership of NUTSA presents you this citation as someone who has greater compassion towards education.’
‘The aptness and dedication with which you represent Ghana Education Service has won the admiration of teachers, students, parents and the leadership of NUTSA. Your positive contributions have promoted the image of NUTSA, Tongu and the Volta region of Ghana as a whole.’
‘We express our invaluable gratitude to you for your sacrificial services rendered to the Association. Future generations will remember you for your effective roles in education.’
‘May the Almighty God bless you and promote you in all your endeavours.’

In September 2023, the Union presented certificates to twenty-one hardworking and deserving teachers in South Tongu during the World Teachers Day Celebration.

In 2018, the Union also presented citations to the then district directors of the three Tongu Districts, namely Mrs. Evelyn Araba Zentey (Former District Director, South Tongu), Mr. Kwashie Henry Hevi (Former District Director, Central Tongu), and Mrs. Rhoda Abiba Akwetey (Former District Director, North Tongu), for their contributions towards quality education.

Selected School Improvement Support Officers (SISO), headteachers of basic schools, and headmasters and headmistresses of second cycle institutions were also awarded by the Union.

In 2019, the Union presented a citation to the Volta Regional Education Directorate under the leadership of Mrs. Enyonam Afi Amafuga (Former Director, Volta Region) for the Directorate’s support and contributions toward the Union’s educational activities.
