The generous Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has gifted the Aveyime Rice Farmers’ Association a new Combine Harvester and Power Tillers.
The Lawmaker, out of his kindness and generosity, has donated the equipment to the Aveyime Rice Farmers’ Association in his beloved constituency on Saturday, 20th November, 2021.
According to the MP, the donation will be the first time in the association’s history where it will have access to its own dedicated Combine Harvester and Power Tillers which will operate on their rice farms at a special MP subsidized rate, far below market charges.
Mr. Ablakwa is confident that, this intervention valued in excess of GH¢300,000.00 will ensure that his beloved rice farmers will not only complete harvesting before Christmas, they would also be guaranteed enhanced profits from henceforth.
This donation came as the Aveyime Rice Farmers’ Association called on the MP to support them with a new Combine Harvester and Power Tillers to lessen the stress they go through in harvesting their rice.
Last week, Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa joined rice farmers in the holy village of Aveyime in the North Tongu Constituency to harvest nutritious and delicious Ghana rice.
The MP used the opportunity to ascertain the real situation on ground in order to extend a helping hand to the farmers.
He said, Ghana can and must be self-sufficient in rice production granted we offer our local farmers targeted support as fe is doing his part.
“The era of depending on expensive and unreliable rentals are over. I shall continue to empower our dynamic hardworking farmers, create more jobs in the process, and contribute our quota towards Ghana’s rice self-sufficiency imperative. You can also support us by deliberately and consistently buying made in Ghana rice.” Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa added.
