The Communication bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced list of Community Day Senior High Schools (SHSs)/E-Blocks completed and commissioned by for president John Dramani Mahama’s government as of December 2016.
According to the Party, John Dramani Mahama’s government has commissioned a total of thirty-six (36) out of forty-six (46) Community Day Senior High Schools (SHSs) before leaving office in 2016.

Reports available suggest that, the completed Community Day Senior High Schools (SHSs) were commissioned by John Dramani Mahama between 2015 and 2016. The party believes that, claims that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) completed only twenty-nine (29) Community Day Senior High Schools (SHSs) is false.
This came after the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia said the NDC government led by Former President John Dramani Mahama constructed only twenty-nine (29) Community Day Senior High Schools (SHSs). Meanwhile, the former Minister of Education Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh who served during President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s first government earlier announced that, the NDC government completed only forty-six Community Day Senior High Schools (SHSs). The contradictory figures keep many wondering.

In reacting to the claims from Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the former president John Dramani Mahama said, his government completed a total of forty-six (46) Community Day Senior High Schools (SHSs) where he commissioned thirty-six (36) before exiting office.
Mr. Mahama said, though he commissioned 36 out of 46 completed Community Day SHS, they could not admit students into the schools because it was not time for admitting students into the Senior High Schools at the period of commissioning.
Explaining further, the former president said, the construction of the Community Day SHS were classified into two categories. Fifty (50) of the school projects were awarded to GetFund and twenty-three (23) were awarded on World Bank Fund for construction.

He added that, the school projects under the GetFund were stopped by the NPP government with claims that, they are going to audit them.
